Tradition Beyond the Form
Yoga is often seen today as movement - asana, flexibility, shapes. And yes, the form of yoga is beautiful; it’s how many of us first connect to the practice.
But Tradition Beyond the Form reminds us that yoga is so much more than postures or appearance. It is meditation, breath, mantra, philosophy, and ethics. It is the way we live, the way we see ourselves and others. In this training, we honor tradition not as something old, but as something alive. You’ll study the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the philosophical roots of yoga, while also exploring the body through anatomy, biomechanics, and nervous-system awareness. This is where ancient wisdom meets modern understanding, where curiosity and science illuminate timeless teachings. To learn beyond the form is to go beneath the surface into essence. From that depth, you’ll find both responsibility and freedom in how you share yoga with others.
Why We Combine Hatha and Vinyasa
At Yoga Nest, we believe yoga is for everyone, and depth comes from embracing the richness of different traditions. Hatha invites us to slow down, explore stillness, and build alignment, stability, and awareness, creating a strong foundation. Vinyasa brings rhythm, creativity, and energy, connecting breath and movement into a meditative flow. Together, they create a balanced and holistic approach to yoga teaching: grounding and freedom, structure and creativity, stillness and flow.
Guka I Gosia Proc - Head Teacher & Founder of Yoga Nest
"I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years and sharing it for nearly a decade, seeing myself first and foremost as a practitioner, deeply committed to my own growth as a lifelong student. I continue to learn, explore, and deepen my understanding of the practice, not only to evolve personally, but to be able to support others on their path in a meaningful and responsible way. It is important to me to honour yoga as a holistic practice. While asana is often the most visible part, it is only one of many aspects. In my teaching, I place emphasis on the broader philosophy of yoga, inviting a more complete and integrated experience beyond the physical. I teach across different approaches, including Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, restorative practices, meditation, and pranayama, and I also hold space as a breathwork facilitator and sound healing practitioner. These elements come together in a way that supports both structure and softness, effort and ease. My journey has taken me through trainings in Switzerland, India, and in other countries. This has shaped the way I approach teaching with curiosity, respect for the body, and attention to both structure and subtlety. I am the lead teacher of the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Nest and the author of this training manual. This program is a reflection of everything I have gathered along the way, blending tradition, modern understanding, and lived experience. I strongly believe that yoga is for everybody, and I look forward to sharing this practice with you throughout this journey.
